The Bibletech 2011 conference is now over. This was the first conference of this sort that I’ve visited. It was an enjoyable two days. I met many new people, made some good contacts, and learned a lot. I was also able to gain a better perspective on how the Orthotomeo Project fits into the current landscape of theological software. I think it can be a good fit and a something worth persuing. I received a fair amount of positive feedback. The next phase will be to asses the current situation and make plans and goals for the phase of development.

Upon further reflection I was also impressed by the general humility of all the presenters. The conference was not a gathering of computer geeks trying to impress one another with how much they know.
It was a gathering of geeks who have been reconciled to God.
This was evident in their demeanor, friendliness and desire to advance God’s kingdom through computer technology.
